About Occupational Therapy
Helping you live your best life
Occupational therapists help solve the problems that interfere with a person’s ability to do the things that are important to them, and then help the person to build their skills for the job of living! Occupational therapists are regulated health care professionals who understand not only the medical or physical impacts of an injury, disability or aging process, but also the psychosocial factors that can affect the functioning of the whole person and their health and well-being.
Occupational therapists help people in all aspects of their daily life, to ensure they can actively engage in the self care, productivity and leisure activities that are important to them. The profession of OT is known for its comprehensive lens and care models, and is actively engaged in practices towards justice, equity, and rights for individuals and communities.
