Occupational therapy role in children's health
A child's occupation is to grow and to learn. Occupational therapy helps children to participate as fully as possible in activities of everyday life, and supports them in continuing to grow and develop skills that support lifelong occupational engagement. Comprehensive assessment, treatment, consultation and education for families targeting specific goals is provided. Susanne has expertise in areas of co-regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, pre-printing and printing skills, executive skills, feeding and other areas of self help. She also supports kids and families to manage stress and anxiety, and she has completed advanced mental health training. Susanne uses a play based and strengths based approach to help families support their children to be as active and independent as they are able to be.
